The Delegates are Coming

The results of the Michigan Primary are in!

With only three states remaining (Nevada, South Carolina, and Florida), to cast their votes before Super Tuesday, candidates will continue to jockey for the perceived lead, momentum and cash during the remaining days that they have to campaign before over 20 states go to the polls to vote, and the number of Delegates for each candidate is decided .

The goals of getting the most votes during the primary and caucus elections are key factors for all of the candidates. To become the Democratic nominee for President, a candidate has to be nominated by a majority of delegates attending the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado, in August 2008.

A candidate has to win a simple majority of 2,025* delegates out of 4,048* to win the nomination. The number however, could change if delegates leave office, leave the party, could not make it to the convention, or the national party changes what states to include in the final count.
